I read a blog called Obama at Hofstra: Relatively Alert,Ergo Big Winner, written by Ann Coulter on October 17, 2012. She wrote this the
morning after the presidential debate. She quotes Michael Jones' question he
asked at the debate. He said “Mr. President, I voted for you in 2008. What have
you done or accomplished to earn my vote in 2012? I'm not that optimistic, as I
was in 2008. Most things I need for everyday living are very expensive."
According to Coulter, Obama could only say he ended the war in Iraq and that
Osama Bin Laden is dead. She has very strong feelings about Obama and the
reader can tell by the way she writes about him.
In her conclusion she mentions how Obama said, "If
you've got a business, you didn't build that. Somebody else made that
happen." He rubbed people the wrong way with saying that. I don’t know how
someone else makes a business happen for someone else and hands it over for
nothing. What did Obama exactly mean by this remark? The small business owners
that I know built their own businesses from the ground up and some almost went
broke trying. It is very hard to tell who Coulter thinks audience is. Her audience could be for people against Obama or the people for him. I want to say it is more for people that are for Obama. She points out the things he lacked, and to help her do this she uses one of his voters from 2008. She is trying to show that people that voted for him in the past might not want to vote for him this year.
